Should this workload move to Oracle Cloud? Find out for a fixed price.
A fixed-scope assessment of one application group on AWS or Azure. You get a like-for-like cost comparison, compatibility findings and a migration plan, or a clear recommendation to stay.
- MoveOCI costs less at equal performance, and a supported route exists.
- Stay and optimizeThe saving doesn't cover the move. You get the optimization list.
- Move the database onlyThe app stays put; its Oracle database moves, for example to Oracle Database@AWS.
What the entry assessment covers. Exports are enough.
We work from an inventory export and recent billing data that you share. Read-only access works too. We never need to touch production.
Included
- One application group and its dependencies
- One AWS account or Azure subscription as the source
- One target OCI region
- Up to 10 virtual machines and one database
- Compatibility and licensing questions identified
Not included
- Deep code review
- Changes to production systems
- Licence purchases or negotiations
- More accounts, regions or applications (quoted separately)
What you receive. A report and a walkthrough with your team.
Typically two to three business weeks after you share the data.
Inventory summary
The application group and everything it depends on, mapped.
Compatibility findings
Which services move as they are, and which need rework or replacement.
Cost comparison
Your current effective bill against the proposed OCI bill, at equivalent performance and availability.
Migration outline
Route, waves, cutover approach and rollback steps.
Implementation estimate
A quote for the next phase, with assumptions and exclusions in writing.
A clear recommendation
Move, stay, or move the database only, with the numbers behind it.
We start from what you actually pay. List prices mislead.
We don't assume Oracle Cloud will be cheaper. If it isn't, the report says so.
Discounts and commitments
Including committed spend you can't exit early.
Data egress
What the source cloud charges to move your data out.
Parallel running
The weeks when both environments are live.
Licences, migration and operations
One-time effort and the ongoing cost to run it.
break_even_months = one_time_migration_cost / monthly_net_saving if monthly_net_saving <= 0: no break-even; recommendation = stay
AWS and Azure take different routes.
VMware, on-premises and other clouds, including Tencent Cloud, can be assessed too. We confirm the supported route and tooling first.
Eligible EC2 instances and VMware VMs
Oracle Cloud Migrations supports these. Managed services such as RDS or Lambda don't transfer unchanged, so each one is assessed on its own.
A planned route per workload
Azure isn't a source in Oracle Cloud Migrations today. We plan a rebuild, a redeployment, an image migration or a database-specific route.
Free help where you're eligible
We check eligibility with you and show which work Oracle covers and which we do, so you don't pay twice.
How the assessment runs.
Four steps, with a written report at the end.
Scoping call
30 minutes, free. We confirm the application group, the source cloud and what's driving the question. It's a fit check, not a free architecture review.
You share the data
An inventory export and recent billing data. We send a short checklist of what to pull.
Analysis
We map services, check compatibility, build the cost model and draft the migration outline.
Readout
A written report and a walkthrough that ends in move, stay or move the database only.
If you go ahead. Each phase is quoted on its own.
Nothing is bundled into the assessment, and work already done is never charged twice.
Pilot migration
One noncritical application moved into a test OCI environment, with functional, performance and data checks, ending in a go or no-go.
Production migration
Agreed migration waves, a cutover plan with rollback steps, and a stabilization period within stated support hours.
Operations
An optional monthly block for reviews, backups, patch planning, monitoring and cost checks.
Common questions.
- Is Oracle Cloud always cheaper?
- No. Egress, commitments you've already paid for and the cost of running both environments can cancel out the saving. The comparison includes all three.
- We have more than 10 VMs. Can we still start here?
- Yes. Start with the application group that matters most, or we quote broader discovery separately.
- Do you need access to production?
- No. Exports or read-only access are enough for the entry assessment.
- Who does the work?
- The assessment is led by our founder, a cloud architect with more than 20 Oracle and Microsoft certifications.
